Growing up I do not remember learning to sew - I may have just always known. My first memories as a little girl, well before I started school, my father letting me use Mother's sewing machine. She'd go outside, I'd get my box of fabric scraps and run to that old Singer. With feet barely big enough to reach the treadle, Dad would give me a big smile and wink as I made little quilts for my dolls.
